The Butler County School System June ACT Cram Session will be held June 6th & 7th at Greenville High Library. Math & Science session will be on June 6th from 9 AM to 12 PM. Reading & English will be held on June 7th from 9 AM to 12 PM. You MUST register to attend by clicking on the link below.

The Butler County Career Academy Open House will be held on May 11, 2017 at 5:00 pm at the Greenville High School Cafeteria. Students who are planning to take any Career Tech Courses for the 2017-2018 school year must attend.

BCSS Parent Surveys parent survey

In an effort to improve our educational practices and to be in compliance with Federal requirements, students will be bringing home surveys for parents to complete. The surveys are required by the State Department of Education. Parents are required to complete two surveys. The two surveys that parents are required to complete may be submitted online or on paper.

Butler County Schools Closed Due to Severe Weather Threat - April 5, 2017

All Butler County Schools will be closed on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 due to the threat of severe weather.

Bright Beginnings registration for the upcoming 2017-2018 year has now been changed to an online registration process.  All applications on file now have to be registered into this new system in order to be included in the random drawing for each Bright Beginnings site. National School Lunch Week school lunch

Butler County Schools will celebrate National School Lunch Week October 12th-14th. We would like to invite our community leaders, police officers, firefighters, and parents to join us for lunch at any of our BCSS schools during this week.

Are YOU who we're looking for?

The Butler County School System is looking for bright, motivated, and dedicated teachers who are prepared to provide inspirational leadership to children in their classroom and to raise achievement levels for every student.

Smartwatches Added to Digital Device Policy no electronic device

Parents and students please be aware that smartwatches have been added to the Digital Device policy for students.  Smartwatches are not allowed during testing.

 

USE OF A DIGITAL DEVICE DURING THE ADMINISTRATION OF A SECURE TEST 
Student Policy 
The possession of a digital device (including but not limited to cell phones, smartwatches, MP3 players, cameras, or other telecommunication devices capable of capturing and relaying information) is strictly prohibited during the administration of a secure test. If a student is observed in possession of a digital device during the administration of a secure test, the device will be confiscated. If a student is observed using a digital device during the administration of a secure test, testing for the student will cease, the device will be confiscated and is subject to search, the student will be dismissed from testing, and the student's test will be invalidated.

McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act

According the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (42 U.S.C.§11435 et seq), homelessness is defined as a child or youth who lack fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence.  This means that children or youth could be living in home situations such as shared housing with other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardships of parents/guardians, or similar reasons; living in an emergency or transitional shelter (domestic violence, emergency, or transitional housing unit); living in a car, park, abandoned building, public building, substandard housing (lack of running water, heat, electricity), bus or train station, or a similar setting; student seeking enrollment without an accompanying parent but not in foster care; migrant student and/or living in conditions described in previous examples; or the student has run away from home, abandoned, or kicked out.

BCSS Earns National Privacy Designation TLE

CoSN (the Consortium for School Networking) awarded the inaugural set of schools that earned the newTrusted Learning Environment (TLE) Seal. The Butler County Board of Education is now an official ACT WorkKeys testing site. WorkKeys® is a skills assessment system that helps employers select, hire, train, develop, and retain a quality workforce.
