The Butler County Board of Education is accepting applications for the following positions in the Butler County School System.  Applications for certified positions may be completed on-line through the Alabama State Department of Education’s website, Teach in Alabama at  www.alsde.edu .   Support personnel application forms may be obtained on this website or by contacting the Butler County Board of Education, 211 School Highlands Road, Greenville, Alabama, (334) 382-2665 or on our website at www.butlerco.k12.al.us.  They should be submitted to this same address.  Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.  A copy of the Salary Matrix for salary information is attached as a part of this notice.  Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.

Driver's Education Teacher - Greenville High School

Alabama Teacher Certification in appropriate subject area required.
School Secretary - Georgiana School High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two (2) years clerical experience required.  Post-secondary training in secretarial and accounting preferred.  Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of office management and the ability to apply this knowledge to work situations.  Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data and to prepare reports from such records.  Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.  Ability to operate a calculator and other standard office machines.  Knowledge of computers and their operation and ability to use designated software.


Substitute Teachers, Substitute School Nurses, Substitute Bus Drivers
and Substitute CNP Workers/Custodians

 The Butler County School System welcomes your interest to serve as a substitute employee in our system. Substitutes must complete an application process and attend an orientation/training session.   Orientation sessions are conducted periodically throughout the year and applicants will be notified by mail of the date and time of the meeting.  Applicants are required to possess a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.  Nurses are required to possess a valid, unencumbered Alabama nursing license.  Applicants must complete an ABI/FBI background clearance through the State Department of Education and apply for an Alabama Substitute Teacher License.  Substitute school bus drivers must possess a valid Alabama Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement and verification of an acceptable driving record.  A minimum of five (5) years licensed driving experience is required as well as certification as school bus driver by Alabama SDE and completion of drug, alcohol, and background screening as required by state and federal statutes.Additional information regarding these processes will be provided prior to the orientation session.
