Butler County Showcases Local Industries

The second annual Built in Butler County event was held to educate 10th grade students on the main industries that drive the County's economy.

Vote YES on Amendment 4

The Butler County Board of Education approved a resolution to support Amendment 4 during their regular meeting on October 23, 2014.  Vote YES on Novemember 4th for Amendment 4. The state amendment will extend protection from unfunded mandates to local school boards. Currently, school boards are not exempt from these types of mandates. Other local government entities such as municipalities and county commissions, have been protected from unfunded mandates since a 1998 constitutional amendment. Officials note local school boards remain the only local governmental entity that is not protected from unfunded mandates.

Greenville High School’s Parent Extravaganza is scheduled for November 13, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. unitl 7:30 p.m..  Refreshments will be served immediately following the show.

GHS Art Students Paint City Mural

The Greenville High advanced art students, mostly comprised of Seniors, painted the mural of Hank Williams in downtown Greenville. The mural was done at the request of Mayor McLendon and the Greenville Chamber of Commerce. The future plan is to add more images related to Hank WIlliams to cover the entire wall.

2014-15 School Calendar

The Butler County Board of Education approved the 2014-2015 school calendar on November 21, 2013. The approved calendar provides for 175 student days with a start date of August 11th for students.
