AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team members assist teachers in all of the Butler County Schools to help support students’ academic development. AmeriCorps members help teachers to improve students’ literacy and numeracy skills, improve graduation rates, keep students on track and boost academic achievement; support early childhood education by introducing oral language and literacy exercises, assists with after-school tutoring; help to prepare students for college and career readiness and STEM learning to classrooms. Since 1997, The AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team has partnered with the Butler County School System (pre-k through 12th grade) and is involved with community events and centers including: McKenzie School - McKenzie, Alabama Georgiana School - Georgiana, Alabama W.O.
