AmeriCorps
AmeriCorps is the national service movement that provides thousands of Americans of all ages and backgrounds with educational awards and real world experience in exchange for a 9-month (Three Quarter-Time) commitment to service. Members may serve up to four terms of service (only eligible for two full-time education awards).
AmeriCorps members help meet the nation's critical needs in the areas of public safety education, human needs, and the environment. Since 1997, The AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team serves in Butler County, Alabama.
The AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team partners with Butler County schools (pre-school through high school) and is involved with community centers and events (Safe Harbor, Relay for Life, Hank Williams Festival, Greenville Public Library's "Super Saturdays", Dunbar Parks & Recreation, Sav-A-Child Outreach Center, Greenville Nutrition and Senior Center, Butler County Concerned Citizens and the Georgiana Public Library).
