  • BCSS Child Nutrition Program Providing Meals During Closure - UPDATED

    Butler County School System’s Child Nutrition Program will provide nutritional breakfasts and lunches for students during the state-mandated school closure. The meals may be picked up at numerous sites within our county that are listed below. Meals for multiple days will be provided. They will be available as follows:

  • UPDATE - Butler County School System COVID 19 Statewide School Closure

    All Butler County Schools will release students early (12:00 noon) on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Staff members will remain at work during the afternoon to disinfect the schools prior to closing. Extended Day services will not be provided on March 18th. Students are scheduled to return to school on Monday, April 6, 2020.

  • PRESS RELEASE

    As you are aware, Governor Kay Ivey declared a state of emergency and announced that all K-12 public schools will be closing at the end of the day Wednesday, March 18, 2020 and will reopen Monday, April 6, 2020. Under this state of emergency, any students who are absent from school Monday, March 16, 2020 through Wednesday, March 18, 2020 will be excused. We will continue to follow guidance from the Alabama State Department of Education, ADPH and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in this emergency situation. Additional updates will be provided as they become available.

  • Annual Accountability Report

    As required by Alabama Act 95-313, the Butler County Board of Education is making Fiscal Year 2018-2019 accountability reports available to the media, parent organizations and legislators. The Financial Report, Student Achievement Report and the School Safety and Discipline Report (SIR) for the Butler County School System are available for review on the school system's website at www.butlerco.k12.al.us. Additional student achievement data is available on the Alabama State Department of Education's website at www.alsde.edu under AL Education Report Card, Supporting Data.
