2023 Federal Programs Needs Assessment
All Staff/Stakeholders - Please take the time to respond to our 2023 Federal Programs Needs Assessment survey. The link to the survey is below. This survey helps us to determine our priorities for our Consolidated Plan and for federal spending for our district. The survey will only take about 10 minutes to complete and will give you a voice in how federal funds are budgeted for the remainder of this year and for the 2023-2024 school year.

Greenville High School/Butler County Career Academy JROTC Team to Compete in National Leadership Bowl Championship in Washington, DC
After advancing through two intense phases of online competition, Greenville High School’s JROTC Leadership Team composed of Anne Elise Shealy, Sarah Parrish, Eva Shealy, and Grace Sellers will compete in a Championship event in Washington, DC. The 2023 U.S. Army JROTC Leadership Bowl Championship will be held on the campus of The Catholic University of America, June 18-22, 2022. This event is sponsored by the U.S. Army Cadet Command and is conducted by College Options Foundation.

PowerSchool Returning Student Registration
Butler County Schools is excited to announce online Returning Student Registration for this school year! This online process replaces the paper forms sent home at the beginning of each school year. Returning Student Registration is REQUIRED using your PowerSchool Parent Account. Letters with Access IDs and passwords have been sent home and are included on each Progress Report. Please follow the steps on the letter to complete the registration process. Parents, this REQUIRED registration process is critical for your child’s school to have the most updated information in case of an emergency and school notifications. ALSDE Releases 2021-2022 Report Cards
The Alabama Department of Education has released the Alabama State Report Card, containing a letter grade for schools and school systems across the state. The Report Card reflects several different factors, including academic achievement, academic growth, and chronic absenteeism, as well as graduation rates and college and career readiness for high schools. The Schools of Distinction Award recognizes the schools and systems that truly stand out in their service to learners, as demonstrated in meeting the Cognia Performance Standards. MTSS Media Blitz held for BCSS
The Butler County School System (BCSS) held a MTSS Media Blitz event Monday, Sept. 19, to announce the system being selected as one of the first in the state to participate in the MTSS program. MTSS, which stands for Multi-Tiered Student Support, is a program whereby student needs are addressed through a comprehensive, prevention-based framework aligned with the Alabama Achieves Strategic Plan.

BCSS Bullying Hotline
In an effort to provide a safe school environment, the Butler County School System has established a hotline, email address, and a form for parents and students to report bullying issues. If you are experiencing bullying whether in-person or via cyber bullying, please contact us so that we can reach out to you. Your identity will not be revealed. Please provide a detailed account of when, where, how, and how often you experience bullying during your school day. Your physical and emotional health are important to us and we stand committed to intervene on your behalf.

Online Meals Payment
Parents can now pay online for your students school meals. Payments on PayPAMS go directly into your child’s meal account at the school cafeteria - no more lost lunch money!

BCSS Charged Meals Policy

School Spirit Shirts
The revision to the dress code was intended to encourage school spirit and pride; and to allow school-based organizations to create spirit shirts to sell as fundraisers for their school-based organizations. The revision was not intended to create income for individuals. ALL school spirit shirts MUST be principal approved.
