    SAVVAS has launched enVision Mathematics Family Engagement. This resource is being provided to help our Butler County caregivers, parents, family, and community members support student learning beyond the classroom.   • McMillian Offered International Opportunity

    McKenzie Senior, Jayden McMillian, is serving this year as the Alabama FFA State Secretary. While serving as the State Secretary and attending the National FFA Conference in Washington D.C., McMillian was presented with the opportunity to apply for the International Leadership Seminar for State Officers (ILSSO) in Australia. This international opportunity was only offered to 75 state officers across the nation, and he was selected to represent the state of Alabama. While exploring “The Land Down Under”, he will have the opportunity to learn about global agriculture and cultural differences between the United States and Australia.   • Shealy Wins 2024 DYW Title

    Congratulations to Greenville High School Senior, Anne Elise Shealy on being chosen as the 2024 Distinguished Young Women of Butler County. Shealy was awarded the “Be Your Best Self” essay, talent, fitness, self-expression, and interview. She earned a $1,500 cash Scholarship for winning the DYW title, a $3000 scholarship to Lurleen B. Wallace Community College, and will represent Butler County at the state program in January.

    Ryan McNaughton, Agriscience Teacher at McKenzie School has been selected to serve as the State of Alabama's National Teacher Ambassador for FFA for the 2023-2024 school year. This is a great honor for Mr. McNaughton and for our school system.

  • Butler County Commission Adopts Resolution Granting 25% of SSUT to Butler County Schools

    On Monday, April 10, 2023, the Butler County Commission unanimously adopted a resolution granting the Butler County School System 25% of the Simplified Sellers Use Tax (SSUT), more commonly called “internet sales tax” that Butler County receives from the State of Alabama.

  • PowerSchool Returning Student Registration

    Butler County Schools is excited to announce online Returning Student Registration for this school year! This online process replaces the paper forms sent home at the beginning of each school year. Returning Student Registration is REQUIRED using your PowerSchool Parent Account. Letters with Access IDs and passwords have been sent home and are included on each Progress Report. Please follow the steps on the letter to complete the registration process. Parents, this REQUIRED registration process is critical for your child’s school to have the most updated information in case of an emergency and school notifications.   • ALSDE Releases 2021-2022 Report Cards

    The Alabama Department of Education has released the Alabama State Report Card, containing a letter grade for schools and school systems across the state. The Report Card reflects several different factors, including academic achievement, academic growth, and chronic absenteeism, as well as graduation rates and college and career readiness for high schools.     Cognia announces Butler County Schools as a 2022 System of Distinction. The Schools of Distinction Award recognizes the schools and systems that truly stand out in their service to learners, as demonstrated in meeting the Cognia Performance Standards. Standards include growth in learning, a healthy culture for learning, engaging and high-quality instructional environments, and effective leadership for learning.

  • MTSS Media Blitz held for BCSS

    The Butler County School System (BCSS) held a MTSS Media Blitz event Monday, Sept. 19, to announce the system being selected as one of the first in the state to participate in the MTSS program. MTSS, which stands for Multi-Tiered Student Support, is a program whereby student needs are addressed through a comprehensive, prevention-based framework aligned with the Alabama Achieves Strategic Plan.
